The Hornindalsrokken Skyrace is a new race in 2026, aimed at experienced mountain runners. The course is approximately 17.5 km long with around 1300 meters of elevation gain, taking you through beautiful western Norwegian nature with turquoise lakes, steep mountain slopes, and spectacular views from Hornindalsrokken (1,526 m above sea level). The highlight is the challenging ascent up Rokkeråsa – 1.3 km with 506 meters of elevation gain and technical terrain. After reaching the summit, a airy ridge awaits, followed by a thrilling descent towards Kjellstaddalen.

Highlights

  • The course follows a rough off-road trail that leads up the valley, with the first aid station at Blåvatnet checkpoint.
  • Rokkeråsa is 1.3 km long with an elevation gain of 506 meters (an average gradient of 38.8%) through technical, loose terrain.
  • The finish line is at Trondstad Community Center, with two refreshment stations along the way.
